Fanfiction C&C Workshop
From Infinite Earths
Fanfiction C&C Workshop is a presentation given at anime conventions or other fanfic-related environments. It deals specifically with giving comments and criticism to fanfiction writers for their benefit.
Presentation Format
The panel begins with a discussion on why C&C is wanted and needed by writers, how best to give C&C, and how writers should receive such feedback in order to improve their writing.
Criteria for good fanfiction, as well as acceptable standards for the given criteria, are developed by the panel's attendees, in an attempt to reach a fair consensus that both writers and readers can easily accept.
The development of the rubric for fanfiction is then tested by applying these standards to a short piece of fanfiction, written by a panelist or attendee of the panel. Attendees are split into groups to review and "grade" the fanfic, as well as offer any detailed comments that readers may feel important to give to writers.
A final question and answer session closes the panel, time permitting.
